Last round I really enjoyed filling your gif and graphics prompts, especially remixing episodes for maximum Spuffiness. Let's do it again!

A Spuffy alternate scene from Crush and more details below the cut.

Come on, what are you waiting for, grab your coat and your pointy sticks. )

It's my day, and with my characteristic degree of preparedness, my fic is incomplete. Here, however, are some icons. Feel free to take any - credit is nice, comments make me happy.

The "lol Amazon" linkspam

http://next-to-normal.dreamwidth.org/361464.html

I'm sure y'all have heard about Amazon's new Kindle Worlds thing. My reaction was pretty much "lol no" - and both John Scalzi and [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda explained the reasons why pretty well. Two points, basically: (1) This is crowd-sourcing series tie-in novels, not monetizing fanfic. The people who currently read fanfic for free aren't the target market here - it's the people who bought 50 Shades of Grey because they didn't realize there's a million stories just like it available for free on the internet. (2) This is a great deal for Amazon and the copyright holders, not so much for the authors. Compared to what fanfic authors get now (i.e. zero)? Sure, something is better than nothing. But compared to the contracts authors receive for tie-in novels, it's a shitty deal.

In other news...

* Noah Emmerich talks about The Americans (among other things) in this interview.

* Homeland has announced some new additions to the cast for season 3.

I'm back again for a second batch of graphics! These are Tumblr-friendly posts, so I'm adding the link to where I posted each on one of my blogs if you want to reblog. :)

(Requests and suggestions for additional posts for a free-for-all day are still welcome!)

Hello, all! Aah I'm so happy to be able to do Seasonal Spuffy again and much thanks to the mods for keeping this going every round!

I'd originally meant this to be a day for requests that I'd try to fill for the free-for-all day, but I had some time and I made a few banners and icons (and gifs and picspams, but I'm not going to put them all into one post) for the time being. I'd still love to fill any requests you have for me! :)

* The folks behind Game of Thrones are talking about setting an end date for the TV series, even though the final books haven't been published yet.

* The woman behind one of The Office's fansites got to appear in the series finale.

* An interview with Joshua Malina, where he talks about Scandal, Aaron Sorkin, and being a douche on the internet.

* Joss Whedon confirms that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are set to appear in Avengers 2. Meanwhile, the Black Panther rumors have reignited due to Marvel's interest in filming in South Africa. Plus, a look at what's coming up in Phase 3.

* I apparently missed the rumor that either Hawkeye wouldn't be in Avengers 2 or Jeremy Renner was being recast, but apparently the rumor is now that all of that was false and he IS in it? Battle of the anonymous sources!

* Vincent Kartheiser as Mr. Darcy is actually really inspired casting.

* Here's a trailer for Dexter season 8.

* A new Broadway musical starring my TV boyfriend Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez? I am so there.

* In case you weren't following the many fall schedule updates, here's the whole thing in a handy grid.

Charachters: Spike/Buffy
Genre: Mystery, angst, memory loss, hurt/comfort
Setting: Post ATS series. Non comics
Words: 5,300
Rating: MA for language and mentions of violence and sex
Prompt: For seasonal_spuffy
Disclaimer: The charachters belong to Joss and Co. This story line is mine though.
Summary: Buffy and Spike wake in an unfamiliar room, injured from an unremembered battle, with faulty memories of their past.

'Let the healing power begin. Let my will be safe again. As these words of peace are spoken, let this harmful spell be broken.'

Willow looked around the crypt. The demons had vanished. Anya and Xander were standing, checking each other for injury. Buffy and Spike were…. Buffy and Spike were still embracing each other, still kissing. Oops. That wasn't right. Not right at all.

Quickie linkspam

* More Into the Woods casting: Emily Blunt as the Baker's Wife, which I can actually get behind? And Jewel as Cinderella, which... I quit. WHY, UNIVERSE? THIS MOVIE IS ALL I HAVE EVER WANTED IN LIFE. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?

* Captain America is in Dupont Circle today.

* J. August Richards is apparently not playing Luke Cage in SHIELD. In case you were wondering.

* And another SHIELD interview.

* The CW's fall schedule was announced today.

* SMG talks about her new show.

* Here's a preview of SMG's new show The Crazy Ones. Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that James Wolk is now in two different shows about advertising agencies? It is my new headcanon that this character is the son of Mad Men's mysteriously chipper Bob Benson.

* You know, I was actually feeling naively hopeful after the HIMYM season finale, but apparently the entire final season will take place during the 56 hours leading up to Barney and Robin's wedding. Because they truly hate us and want us to suffer.

* May this oral history of The Office remind you of a time when The Office was actually a good show.

* CBS announced its fall schedule today.

* The SHIELD cast was out doing interviews at the upfronts, while revealing very little.

* Wondering why Tony Stark didn't have any help from the Avengers in Iron Man 3? This is why. (No spoilers, just funny.)

* You can now see clips from the vampire movie Only Lovers Left Alive. And I thought Tom Hiddleston's Loki hair was bad...

* Chris Pine and Jake Gyllenhal to play the two princes in the Into the Woods movie? I just... why.

* This is probably of interest to no one but me, but my girl-crush Heidi Blickenstaff is playing the lead role in Next to Normal! YES THAT IS THE SHOW I NAMED MY JOURNAL AFTER. GOING TO VERMONT NOW, KTHXBAI.

* OH MY GOD WE HAVE ALL BEEN PLAYING MONOPOLY WRONG ALL THIS TIME. Mind = blown.

* Someone at Google Maps is a Lord of the Rings nerd. Heh.

* ABC's fall schedule was announced today.

* SHIELD has a full trailer! Observations: (1) Yeah, fuck it, I quit with the long title and the periods. Y'all know what I'm talking about. (2) J. August Richards! Who appears to be a superhero! (3) "It means someone really wanted our initials to spell SHIELD." Heh.

* Chris Evans came to visit today. I am a terrible stalker and did not head to the Mall on my lunch break to check out filming. :(

* Downton Abbey season 4 has a US premiere date. Once again, it's months after the UK season.

Houston, we have a Mother! I think going with an unknown actress was probably the best option. I never saw Once on Broadway, so I have no opinion on Cristin Milioti, but I'm always in favor of theater actors getting more work.

* The Mindy Project has had a bit of an uneven first season, and it's earned much of my affection solely based on the fact that Mindy is pretty much exactly my friend Christi, but this is a good discussion of what it's doing well and what sets it apart from most of TV.

* The new Catching Fire poster is very pretty.

* A look at some of the pilots that didn't make it this year.

Linky linky

http://next-to-normal.dreamwidth.org/359471.html

* A new website has launched as promotion for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Which also has a new trailer!!

* Mark Ruffalo addresses the recasting rumors sparked by the Marvel contract negotiations. LOL basically: "Uh, no one's fired me yet, so...?"

* Another spoilerific IM3 discussion that I'm sticking here so I can go back to it later.

* Community has been renewed for a 13-episode 5th season. I'm not sure this is a good thing.

* Now that the fate of most series have been decided, NBC's fall schedule has been announced, along with FOX's. The rest of the networks will follow later this week. Also, here's a full list of renewed, canceled, and newly picked-up shows by network, in case you've lost track.

* Especially for [personal profile] pocochina, because I'm sure she's dying to know: here's a preview for season 2 of The Newsroom.

* Vince Gilligan talks about bringing Breaking Bad to a close.

* What is going on with the accents in Game of Thrones? "Like most fantasy television shows, Game of Thrones is largely populated by English actors speaking with English accents. This is because Americans are still unconvinced that England is a real country, and associate English speech patterns with kings and magic and sorcery and frequent stabbings." LOL, but seriously, WHY do all the Stark kids have different accents? They all grew up in the same house, right?

I take it back...

http://next-to-normal.dreamwidth.org/359414.html

THIS is the longest linkspam ever. At least a week's worth, and of course my busiest week ever is the week a slew of TV renewals, pick-ups, and cancellations were announced. I still have some straggler tabs that I haven't looked at yet, but this is getting out of control, so let's just hit post...

Marvel links:

* How they did the sound effects for Iron Man 3.

* Still haven't seen it, so you tell me: did IM3 ruin the Mandarin?

* Tony Stark is the new Captain America? (Metaphorically, obviously.) I guess it's not that surprising that Cap would rub off on him quite a bit. (...heh heh)

* Joss talks more about Avengers 1 and 2, as does Kevin Feige.

* Even though Joss has already debunked the Marvel contract negotiations article (or at least the parts that were about him), the question of whether Avengers 2 needs Iron Man creatively is an interesting one. Assuming, of course, I can set aside my immediate "BUT TONY/STEVE!!" reaction... lol. I'd rather have a Tony Stark-less Avengers 2 than recasting RDJ, though.

* Another collection of hilarious RDJ quotes. "I’d rather wake up in jail for a TB test than have to wake up another morning knowing I’m going to the set of US Marshals." See, this is what makes him not seem like a total asshole when he talks about how awesome he is - because he's just as brutally honest when talking about the craptastic shit he's done.

* And another really long RDJ interview. He talks a lot about his childhood and dancing in this one.

* Saoirse Ronan is apparently the "prototype" for Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2. The article also includes this piece of WTFery: the characters will be British "rather than trying to have actors playing Eastern Europeans." Because there are no actual Eastern European actors in the world who could possibly play the roles? If they just want to make the characters British, whatever, but making them British so that actors don't have to play Eastern European is kind of ridonkulous.

* Who on earth thought dudes in tactical gear carrying assault weapons was a good way to promote a movie? Even one with some connection to S.H.I.E.L.D.

* Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was officially picked up for a full season, thereby becoming the early favorite for the Emmy for Longest Title of a TV Series. It also has a very shiny new logo.

* With superhero movies doing so well, why are superhero TV series struggling so much? And what does that mean for S.H.I.E.L.D.?

TV links:

* One more post-mortem for season 1 of The Americans.

* The Americans is promoting two of its cast members to series regulars, though I don't think we should be any less worried about them possibly getting killed off.

* Homeland is also promoting some folks to series regulars.

* Sarah Michelle Gellar's new show (also starring Robin Williams) was picked up. Alas, so was Margo Martindale's show, which means I guess we won't be seeing her much (or at all) on The Americans.

* Parks and Recreation has been renewed for a sixth season. Scandal, Suburgatory, Nashville, and Revenge were all also renewed.

* On the other hand, Smash was canceled, as was Go On. And this summer will be the last season for Burn Notice.

* Since Kiefer Sutherland's show Touch isn't coming back, apparently someone decided we need more 24? So we may be getting another 13 episodes.

* As if TVD and The Originals weren't enough, Julie Plec has a THIRD series coming to the CW next season. (Also: WOW Aimee Teegarden looks different with dark hair.)

* 10 things you didn't know about The Office. Sadly, some of those casting ideas (Alan Tudyk as Michael Scott? An African American Pam? sound more awesome than the show we got.

* I haven't been watching Psych this season, but Cary Elwes is coming back.

* Who should play the Mother on HIMYM? Do we even care anymore?

* Bryan Cranston was in town and talking politics. Heisenberg for president?
