I have another answer.
Not sure.
2. Spike proclaims to Buffy that he can be good, like Angel. What say you?
Yeah. Angel had a soul. Spike has a chip. Same diff.

I have another answer.
Not sure.
3. By the end of the episode, which woman do you think has the largest grievance with Spike?
Drusilla - Betrayed and offered up to be dusted for Buffy

I think all of this pretty much proves that he can be good too since the moments on the show when someone does something selfless are close to none and almost all of them are Spike's. Buffy and Angel for all their 'selflessness' aren't quite in the running. Buffy does it all out of duty. Sure, she cares and shé takes it like the hero she is but if she wasn't called she would have never been more than a previously-shallow currently-ok gal. She is the freaking Slayer she HAS to do those things. Every Slayer does them(Faith being an exception for a while). Angel spent years and years moping around and then suddenly after seeing a teenager sucking on a lollipop he decides he wants to join the good fight? Ooooook. Angel does it mostly to pacify his soul and to satisfy desire I want to remain ignorant about 'cause ew. Spike doesn't have to do any of it. It's not his destiny, he doesn't have a soul and he is always being rejected by the girl. Yet, he does it. Yeah, he does it for her, for love. I still think it's the best reason of them all.
I disagree with you on that - in Prophecy Girl she literally does quit because she's afraid to die ("I'm only sixteen, Giles!") but she goes in and takes on the Master anyway after listening to Willow talk about the carnage in the TV room. She could have chosen to walk away. In The Prom she's determined that her classmates will have their prom experience even if she can't. Etc. I think the point is not where she starts but where she ends up, as with Spike. Her duty/demon, his chip/soul, etc - they both overcome their "natures".
Now with Faith, she spends time in prison - atoning, blah blah, etc - but also leaving Buffy as the only Slayer - again; but in Who's That Girl she has the chance to take off, but doesn't. Is this because, as you say with Buffy, duty automatically kicks in? We haven't seen this to be the case before with her; I have to think it's the time spent in Buffy's body/life that alters her, that she's actually slightly altered by something inherent in Buffy herself. (And it's interesting that Faith and Spike interact in that episode - Spike is about to take over the role Faith had in S3 of being Buffy's dark mirror/shadow self.
(And wow that was rambly, sorry.)

I may disagree with you about Buffy a bit, but NO disagreement here on Angel. Ick.
