So I'm taking the GRE next Monday. I'm CRAMMING. As such, I may be a mere ghostly presence in the LJ world for the next week. (Though there may be more Wordy fic soon...)

Still, have a poll!

Midpoint of S5, anyone? You know you wanna poll for Blood Ties...

I was gonna say "no way" re telling Spike, but then it occurred to me that she asked Spike to watch over Dawn and Joyce last week, and that complicates things, not because he has a right to know globally, but I think that people who are asked to do protection work should have some idea of what level of risks they're taking. But I think it's probably still not worth the risk to tell him while he's still clearly unallied. The Scoobies, I think, are more clearly allied and are also in danger, so I'd say she should have told them. Dawn though is the one who has the most right to know full stop.

Oh, that's a good point. On the other hand, I don't think Buffy even had time to brief him in Checkpoint? She'd just been threatened by Glory and was already late to her meeting with the Watchers. So I can see her not filling Spike in on everything at that moment. Given that, is it something she should have told him after?

Good point. Well, I think that Spike does have a right to know after the fact, because what information Buffy decided to keep from him should really affect how much he trusts her/how he deals with her in the future. And I mean, he could ask for danger pay *g*. I think though this is a situation where Buffy's responsibility to protect Dawn outweighs her responsibility to keep fair business/ally practices with Spike. I would say that if it weren't for the bodyguarding (and his being brought into the search party in this episode) he wouldn't have a leg to stand on, but that does give him at least a leg.
