National Protest Against the War on Women

Horrified at the latest encroachments on the rights and freedom of women in the US?

Do charts like this freak you the fuck out? (Source)

Are you pissed off that your access to birth control is under attack? Or that some politicians are trying to enforce vaginal ultrasounds before abortions? Or that Santorum thinks your sex and body are his business? Starting to feel like we've taken a huge step backward in terms of women's advancement?

I know some people (understandably) don't have a Facebook, and this thing doesn't appear to have an off-FB site, but please take a look-see at THIS.

The deets:

On Saturday, April 28th, there will be a National Protest Against the War on Women.

This protest will be at every state capitol, plus D.C.

This organizing page has the links to each states' page (on the right sidebar, click "see more", and scroll down).

EDIT: They now have an off-FB page. We Are Woman March on Washington compiles all the Facebook groups, events, and pages.

I'm not the organizer of any of these events. I'm just another pissed off woman who's planning to attend.

When I was pregnant with my son, there were some concerns early on and I had to have an ultrasound. The same vaginal ultrasound argued for by some. Let me tell you, it was a very unpleasant experience. My husband was there with me and was pissed off over this, just remember how uncomfortable and, at points, painful it was. Seriously, much later in my pregnancy I had a membrane sweep and it wasn't even close to as unpleasant as that ultrasound is.

Ugh, I can't even imagine. They're trying to pass that same vaginal ultrasound bill here in Texas, and I've been so nervous about going through that if I had to get an abortion. It would be humiliating and uncomfortable and COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY.

I can't fathom any of this.

No problem. Blue dragons stand united with us on this issue!

It probably didn't help that she had trouble finding my ovaries. It was my second pregnancy. I was pretty certain they were in there.

But seriously, I am fortunate in that I was never raped. Because my god, if there was one thing that could trigger, I could very easily see it being that.
