Eh, I don't really wanna get in the habit of doing reaction posts for Doctor Who, but, dammit, I can't help it! Guys, I think...I think I'm becoming fannish for Doctor Who! *has long been mono-fannish for BtVS only*




Random thoughts:

- Does this mean that the next time we see River, she won't know about the Doctor's future death? So River, as time goes for her, never finds out what happened there? Or...I guess she already does cause she's already gone through it. So she's holding out on Amy and Rory? No, she looked genuinely upset and surprised when it happened, so...I have no clue. Ahhhh...I'm gonna have to figure out River's time line. It's confusing me.

- I really hope Amy isn't pregnant. I severely dislike pregnancy storylines in genre shows. The only time I've seen it done well was in Xena.

- Actually, I kinda dislike the Rory/Amy/Doctor triangle popping up again. I thought that was put to rest with Amy's Choice last season. Can we not?

- Okay, those two qualms aside, I LOVED THIS TWO-PARTER. Usually two-parters fall down in the second part, but OH MY GOD this didn't! And so much opportunity for fics with the time jump at the beginning. Like, why was River in an evening dress again when she threw herself off the building? Why'd she throw herself off the building? Was she not in on the plan? Or did she just decide to do things her own way?

- Creepy orphanage is creepy.

- Creepy little girl is creepy. I don't know if I think she's a Time Lady, personally. But maybe she acquired some Time Lady powers somehow?

- Is this it for the Silence? They were foreshadowed so many times last season, it seems a bit anti-climactic for them to be done with in the first couple episodes. Though I guess their legacy lives on in the little girl, whatever/whoever she is.

- The recorder in the hand thing squicked me out. I'm so easily unnerved.

- I loved the resolution! So clever! I've always liked Moffat's plots for that reason. The resolutions are earned and are genuinely clever as opposed to being justified through technobabble and button-pushing. He used the Silence's own power against them. Well done, sir!

- Doctor/River! Kiss! Oh, but then I died a little for River. This couple, guys! It gets to me!

- Also, River's a BAMF. And totes my wife. (Andrew's okay with this as he's claimed Amy as his wife.)
