Screen-wipe, new scene

slayer watcher witch
Okay, I have a thing for the unheard underdog (that explains why I like Spike). That's why I posted about the cultural context for the people who are having issues with the comics; I saw them being whapped down outside of LJ, and I wanted to give them some validation. On LJ, though, the inverse seems to be the case. So here's an open post for those who don't have issues with the comics (or at least not issues that overwhelm one's enjoyment) to give me the what on the feminist perspective there.

Please don't use this to refute arguments you've seen elsewhere. Blank slate: tell me what you're getting from the comics from a feminist perspective. I know some things are up in the air till the next issue comes out, but hey. Speculate.

Can't say that I'm gonna be able to interact too much (unless you bring up the series; I'm all over that). However, I'm eager to show off my shiny new icons that I've gotten thanks to LJ's a la carte userpics. Plus, one of the lovely joys of feminism is the flexibility of the philosophy when applied to media interpretations (kinda like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup). Not to mention feminism's desire to give room to previously-unheard voices.

Comics-positive comments only, folks.
