Ack! I was looking through Spuffy Production's archives (they're the ones who did that "The Ones Who Stand" vid that got pimped a bit ago). And they have this, this gloriously painfully beautiful S6 Buffy/Spike vid. And it's just perfect. From Buffy's POV, and I love to see vids from Buffy's POV because so many are from Spike's. It nails it, and it makes me cry (because I am a wuss).
"Untouchable", third one down on this page. They have a download link, but let me see if I can work the embed. If I can't, here's a direct link to the streaming version.

Yeah, that's why I always hoard vids. I live in fear they'll be yanked down off the net. I'm still checking out their other vids (because they seriously rock) but Untouchable just got to me and I had to share.
There's a lot of Spuffy but also other BtVS and various TV and Movie fandoms.
(Including 'Beautiful,' which is also a personal favorite if mine, as it was my birthday present a couple years back :D)
It also just occurred to me that you might not have seen
I need to balance it out with a happy Spuffy vid...but I don't think there are any. I suppose "I Touch Myself" is a bit of an upper...
It also just occurred to me that you might not have seen [info]stormwreath's It's Not.
I hadn't, but I'll check it out. :)
Stupid Visita.
You could watch it on one of his comps...
And he's using his comp for school.

But yes, agreed, the video NAILS S6 Buffy. See, I think what a lot of people miss about S/B in that season is that while it's not a romance, it *is* a tragedy. (The vampire who feels too much, the Slayer who can't feel enough.) But this video so, so gets it. *flails hopelessly*
And yes! It's two broken people inadvertently breaking each other more and more. Buffy wants so desperately to feel, and Spike wants to help her, but it all just ends in badness. I just love the final moments of the video when everything's fading to black because even though what she has with Spike is undeniably destructive, it's still what's keeping her going. Without it, she's lost, alone, unaffected by anything.
I think a big focus in Spuffy fandom is on Spike's unrequited love in S6, which is, obviously, an essential part. But I find Buffy's angle so much more fascinating in how she needs Spike, she uses the love he has for her, she's just so desperate to feel something. And that ends up fucking them both up so much.
*loves it*
YES. YESYESYES. The use of the lighting and dimming of colours in that last part (I'm sure there's some technical terms for that...) KILL me, because it illustrates beautifully the crux of their connection, and how if Buffy's not alone WITH Spike, then she is just simply, alone.
And this video is precisely why I will always have tremendous love for my ship, no matter/because of how fucked up it is :)
Thank you for the rec, I always forget that Bam is out there.
Do you know of any place where people can give requests/prompts for other people to make videos to specific songs? Lately I've been struck by whatever you call the vid version of a plot-bunnies, but that is just not something I can try to learn right now.
p.s. I'm SpuffyProductions... in case my lj user name had caused some kind of confusion.
It's such a beautiful vid. I've watched it over and over and I just fall in love with how you match up lyrics to clips to make that gut-wrenching impact. "Face-saving promises", "catch your breath", etc etc. It's gorgeous, and you deserve much kudos for it. :)
