Usually I choke up if it's sad, but I've only full out sobbed like that a few times. Mostly if it's close to home, something I've experienced.
Actual death scenes and grieving are less likely to do it for me. Hope and beauty are more likely to make me cry - I think it's significant that my first BtVS tears were during "The Prom," when Jonathan presents Buffy with her Class Protector award.
(Today must have been one of those, cause for some reason watching early S4 had me crying pathetically about Parker dumping Buffy.)

However, a few get to me. Flowers for Algernon made me bawl like a baby.
To this day I associate that fic with post-crying headaches.
Other fics have made me cry, but I can't think of what ones specifically right now, hehe. But yes, definitely fanfiction has made me cry.
Off now to read some of Anaross's fics *grabs tissue box with glee*
However, it's only Xander-angst that gets me wailing, I may feel sad about the other characters but only watching them cry on screen makes me tear up. With written words, Xander is the only one that can really get a teary, sobby reaction out of me.
