The Willow/Xander "clothing fluke" of S3....

Ugh. Don't remind me.
What an interesting development
Why did Xander and Cordy have to break up? Why??
We know Snyder was clued in to the fact that there are vampires and demons. Did he actually know that Buffy's the Slayer?

Yep. But he's in league with the Mayor so he's all evil and mean to her cause of it.
No, he was kept in the dark on that.
Doesn't Armin Shimerman rock?

I like X/C, but I think I like X/W more.
Snyder may not have been kept in the dark, so much as he didn't even bother to ask.
I've always assumed that Willow was going to school so she could be a teacher.
I always wondered whether Snyder knew or not. It could go either way. I don't think Snyder was evil evil, though, like wanting to kill people evil.
Dopplegangland!
Normal Again is a huge retcon.
While it's totally logical that Buffy would have ended up there, it's one of those things that you would think would have been brought up in the montage of Angel stalking her, when Buffy explains to people why her mom can't know, when Joyce actually finds out, by Dawn in a petulant moment, ect.

Just going by memory here, but I don't think there's ever a mention of Willow taking a science class except for Psych with Maggie. Not even any computer science or anything. My general impression was that after she went to college she shifted from being really interested in and good at science to being really good at and interested in and good at the social sciences and humanities. I don't know if that's something the show did to make her fit the wicca/lesbian stereotypes or just something my brain did because of those stereotypes, but that was my impression. *waits for people to have canon evidence to contrary*
Best Scooby meeting place?
The library, hands down. The lighting wasn't always the best, but the second level in it made it really easy to set up interesting blocking, and it made sense that there were enough books around to explain whatever people needed to research. This answer was in no way influenced by the fact that I work in a library.
If she'd already been locked up for going on about vampires, the last thing she would risk is joking about it.
First off, can I say how much I'm loving it that "Why did Xander and Cordy have to break up?" is currently winning? LOVE. IT.
I could go either way with Snyder, so I'm just going to go with how fantastic Armin Shimerman is, kay?
It's amazing to me just how good the "double" episodes all are. Top notch, every last one, though I went with "Intervention" because A) naked Spike with bedroom hair, B) the Buffybot is the most adorable thing ever, and C) the kiss at the end! So sweet!
The retcon was stupid, but I still like the episode.
How much do I love all the Buffy love in the final question? So much.
While I worship vamp!Willow, I had to choose Intervention for the "double" episodes. For all the reasons you listed, and because I love where it takes the plot and thematic arcs of the season. Plus...naked Spike with bedroom hair. Okay, you mentioned it, but it's one of those things that really can't be mentioned enough.
She tells Buffy, in relation to Psychology "It's fun, and you can use it for your science requirement."
I think she's pretty clearly on the Arts track. Mind you, if you remember from 'Choices' she actually chose UC Sunnydale partly because they'd let her design her own course.
Wow, I'm really surprised how few said Willow. Maybe I'm just feeling the gay sisterhood or whatevs, or think she's adorable-then-really hot, but she has such a lovely character arc and is just such a LIKABLE person even when she's doing dumb stuff. You can't help but love her, and the way her control flaw is set up from the beginning is marvelous, even if plenty don't see it.
The mental hospital thing always made sense to me cause I read one of those Buffy comics where she gets sent to the hospital before I saw Normal Again - I actually think it's in a couple of them, so it always 'felt' canon to me.
Durrrh, Doppelgangland! Best ep ever! Although the others are good too.
Science, cause...Willow's science-y.
The Magic Box - it's in my favorite seasons (4-6), and it's full of nice fun stuff and it's an opportunity for funny and it's Anya and...yeah. It's fun. Although the library is cute and homey.
I never thought about the Snyder question before, that's interesting. I just put that he rocks cause I have no idea and...don't really care, honestly. :D
Clothing fluke does not exist. What are you talking about?
Although if it did exist, I may have screamed at my TV and made separating motions with my hands and babbled about how she loves Oz and such. If it had happened.
*is also shallow and chose Intervention for largely the same reason*
I am shocked to see you pick Buffy over Willow. Shocked, I say!
The NA retcon only makes sense to me because I always assume the mental institution bit was a Dawn-related fake memory.

I've heard that before. Seems a little over-extensive and gratuitous for the monks to add a memory like that in there, but it would make more sense with past canon.
As for Willow, I suppose I can see her taking what she could never have before, but she was seriously stupid to risk what she had with Oz for a few makeout sessions with Xander. Oz forgives her 'cause that's his way, but personally, my reaction would have been closer to Cordelia's to Xander. And don't even get me started on how that girl took a chance on him, and he shows his appreciation by macking on another girl. Grr! >:-(
Willow does have a very sciencey mind, but I always saw her designing her own curriculum. She's one of those people who's good at everything, and I don't see her resigning herself to just one discipline. She'd want some physics to help with the witchcraft, maybe some Latin for reading ancient texts, and perhaps some art for the hell of it. :-P
I can see Buffy having been in a mental hospital pre-series. It would help to explain why she's so against the slaying in "Welcome to the Hellmouth." But there was never any kind of reaction on Joyce's part when Buffy's tells her she's the Slayer in "Becoming." No, "Oh, no, Buffy, not that again." It makes sense and doesn't at the same time. However, that retcon pales in comparison to the arrival of Dawn. They rewrote 14 years of memories. A brief stint in the looney bin seems kinda unimportant after that. :-P
But Willow...it just seems off to me. I know that often you get some "residual" feelings, even when you get over crushes, but...she was over Xander. Last season, she called Oz's name when coming out of her coma. And it just seems odd for Willow to cheat on Oz like that.
Plus, it was ultimately a contrivance to get Xander and Cordy broken up.

Heh. But Dawn is a conscious commentary on retcons and is explained within canon. The mental hospital thing is just popped in there with very little regard for earlier canon. Buffy even mentions slaying vampires in front of her mom in The Witch, and her mom doesn't react in a way that suggests she'd ever heard it before.
Just very odd. The only "off" part of an otherwise excellent episode.
Snyder didn't know that much--if he were in cahoots with the Mayor, he wouldn't have been eaten.
I love "Intervention,"--jeebus knows I do. But there is just something awesome about Vamp!Willow showing up...I think she was the best double.
Dumb! Retcon, undeclared, and I voted Xander cause I figured he wouldn't get much love anyway, and also cause I like him. Giles...there was major glue sniffage in season seven that I just didn't understand.
undeclared
Really? In S7, Willow would have been in her 4th year of college. True, she missed some time when she fell apart in S6, but still...that's an awful long way into a degree without declaring a major. And I think most schools require you to declare in your Sophomore year or so.
Plus, Willow's pretty damn focused. I think she'd have her college career planned from the start.
